I do...not

Here's a picture of my lovely faux engagement ring. Doesn't it look real? If my future husband is reading this, the ring is entirely TOO HUGE and CAN NOT be considered good stewardship. If anyone ever gives me a ring like this, I'll have to give it back to you.
P.S. If you can actually afford to pay for a ring like this in cash, just buy me a house instead!!!

Happy '07

Well, I'm back in Edmonton, after a couple of weeks in the Greater Toronto Area. Highlights of my holiday were:

1. Literally racing through the security line at the airport on Boxing Day; forgetting that I had change in my pocket, a belt around my waist and a watch on my wrist and having to suffer the consequences at the scanner; and then careening toward the gate, where they had JUST called our names, as we were the LAST passangers to show up.
2. Phone catch-up with Kendra. For once, BOTH of us were in Canada! (albeit 3 hours of driving distance apart...)
3. Interrupting my sister's phone calls to her new boyfriend. (LOTS of fun).
4. Eating Jamaican patties.
5. Tiger Malt.
6. NOT catching the bouquet at a wedding last Sunday, and laughing hysterically with the 73 year-old lady who did...
7. Saturday night hysteria with other AU grads.
8. 12.2 km run in the GTA with me, myself and I (I rock!)
9. Singing with my sister, as a late addition to a church concert.
10. Catching up with Italian and Egyptian friends who I met during my séjour in France. (More side-splitting laughter).
11. Brunch with Ms. Lisa.
12. Finding the perfect fake engagement ring (a real stunner). I can't wait to fool my students!!!
13. Guided tour of my youngest siblings' college campus. My, how they have grown!

It's good to be home. I wish I had another week of holiday left, but such is life. Back to work!
